Each week, students train across all three disciplines under the guidance of industry professionals, developing the versatility, confidence and creativity needed to become expressive, well-rounded performers.

Built around Hammond Extra’s unique three-term structure — Training, Creating and Performing — the course allows students to strengthen technique, devise and develop original work, and share their achievements through end-of-term open houses, studio showings and an end-of-year showcase.

Triple Threat Training
Integrated weekly sessions across acting, singing and dance, focusing on developing balance and stamina across all performance skills.

Ensemble Singing
Collaborative ensemble singing that builds vocal confidence, musicality and teamwork. Students explore harmonies and blend as part of a group, learning how to listen and respond musically.

Solo Work
Opportunities to perform solo numbers, developing stage presence, performance awareness and collaboration.

Acting Through Song
Learn how to connect truthfully to lyrics, tell stories through music, and deliver emotionally engaging performances that combine vocal and acting technique.

Dance for Musical Theatre
Focus on jazz, contemporary and stylistic movement that underpins musical theatre choreography. Students learn how to adapt movement to character, story and style.

Improvisation & Devising
Encouraging spontaneity, creativity and ownership, students work collaboratively to devise short pieces, preparing them for the creative demands of the industry.

Audition & Performance Skills
From musical theatre auditions to screen tests, students build confidence in presenting themselves, selecting repertoire and performing under pressure.

Our Dance course is a vibrant, energetic programme designed for students who want to develop strong technique, versatility, confidence, and performance skills across a range of dance styles.

Led by experienced industry professionals, this course mirrors the standard of The Hammond’s full-time training while offering a flexible, part-time structure that allows every dancer to flourish.

Built around Hammond Extra’s three-term framework — Training, Creating and Performing — students develop core technique in the autumn, explore choreography and creation in the spring, and showcase their work in the summer.

Core Training Areas

Jazz & Commercial Dance
Explore dynamic, high-energy routines that reflect professional industry trends. Focus on precision, strength, style and performance quality to build confidence on stage.

Hip-Hop & Street Dance
Learn commercial and urban styles that emphasise rhythm, groove and musicality. Students work on freestyle and choreography to enhance individuality and stage presence.

Contemporary & Lyrical Dance
Develop fluidity, control and emotional expression through contemporary and lyrical techniques, including floor work, release and partner work.

Musical Theatre Dance
Experience choreography influenced by West End and Broadway productions. Students learn to tell stories through movement and combine technical skill with character-driven performance.

Latin & Ballroom Fundamentals
Discover the flair and energy of Latin styles while learning key ballroom foundations that build coordination, posture and rhythm.

Safe Dance Practice & Conditioning
Understand how to prepare, strengthen and recover the body effectively to support long-term progression and prevent injury.

This course nurtures dancers of all backgrounds — from those looking to enhance their training alongside other commitments to those preparing for full-time vocational study.

At Hammond Extra, flexibility is at the heart of everything we do. Our timetable allows students to train for a full day (two courses running consecutively) or commit to a half day (one 10-week course), creating a schedule that suits their goals, lifestyle, and ambitions.

Between each 10-week term, we include dedicated breaks — time for students to rest, recharge, or pursue other creative ventures. Whether you choose Acting & Musical Theatre, Dance & Musical Theatre, or Dance & Classical Dance, your training experience is designed entirely around you.

Course Fees

• £330 per term (10 weeks) or £900 per year (30 weeks)

• Students can book term-by-term or for the full year

• Choose from half-day (one course) or full-day (two courses) training options

Payment Structure

• 10% deposit secures your place each term

• Remaining balance due before the first session

• Pay in full or use the deposit and balance option

Absence Credits

• Credit available for up to two missed sessions per term (with 24 hours’ notice via the absence form)

• Credits can be used towards future term fees or holiday courses

• Credits remain valid until the end of the following term
