The Hammond Hosts BBC Question Time
We were thrilled to play host to BBC Question Time on Thursday, 6th June! It was a privilege to be chosen for this special regional event, especially given the high-profile nature of the show as the country heads towards the General Election on 4th July.
The anticipation and excitement leading up to the event were palpable. The BBC production team arrived on the Wednesday, and meticulously transformed The Hammond Theatre into the iconic Question Time set over the course of 24 hours. Watching this transformation was fascinating, as every detail was carefully planned to reflect the showβs distinguished atmosphere.
The evening culminated in a live broadcast from The Hammond at 8 pm on BBC One. The atmosphere was electric as the panelists engaged in lively and thought-provoking discussions, addressing pressing issues and answering questions from the audience. It was an incredible experience to be part of such a significant event, and we were proud to have our theatre showcased on national television.
Hosting Question Time and being involved on the ground level highlighted the importance of regional voices in national debates and reinforced our commitment to being a valued cultural hub in Cheshire, and to make ourselves more accessible to a wider community.
